Regine Hoechster, née Eschwege
*February 25th, 1869 in Fulda
Regine lived at Mittelstrasse 27, but moved at a young age. In 1893 she married Herz Hoechster. On May 17, 1939, she lived with her husband at 1 Corneliusstrasse in Frankfurt. From there she was deported to Theresienstadt on September 1, 1942 and then to Treblinka on September 29, 1942, where she was murdered on arrival.
As a group, we would like to remember the murdered people in particular on their birthdays, starting in February. With many victims we do not know when they were torn from life, but on a birthday we can think specifically of this one person and show him or her and the families that this person has not been forgotten.
For this reason we label a stone with the name and the birthday. Sometimes we’re even lucky enough to have a photo of the person so we can look into his and her eyes.
We do not forget you!
